Artist Studios

We have six artist studios here at Mayo Street Arts. They are approximately 10' x11'. All have windows. There is 24-hr access to the studios, as well as a large common area, sink area, and built-in exhibition space.

The studios are on the ground floor of the church.
Upstairs on the first floor of the building is a large gallery and music hall where we hold dance classes in the evenings and performances on weekends. Artists attend most performances for free as part of their rent.

Mayo Street Arts is a non-profit community arts center. We will be holding regular gallery exhibits and participating in First Friday events. We want artists to have a quality, affordable place to work and create, and also have the opportunity to collaborate and exhibit their work if they so desire.

We currently have a waiting list for artist studios, but we happily take names from interested parties. Who knows - a studio may open up sooner than later...

New Digs

Here's to new beginnings: a new year in new digs, the old St. Ansgar's Church built long long ago by and for hard working Danish Lutheran immigrants, now to be inhabited and unihibited by artists, poets, dancers, dreamers, puppeteers, and other rathscallions and scallywags.

Mayo Street Arts will open its doors February 1st to hold performances, exhibitions, classes, and gatherings. We offer six artist studios for rent, a unique music hall with high ceilings and stained glass windows, and a haven for fun, collaboration, and creativity.

We're throwing an Art with Heart Hootenanny Saturday, February 13th, from 7-9 pm. That's right, St. Valentine's EVE, - it's a love-themed silent auction featuring art, goods, and services from some of Portland's best artists, musicians, and businesses. There will be music, art, sweets, valentines, drinks, juggling, romance in the air - what more d'ya want? Tell us at MayoStreetArts@gmail.com.
